DIDACTIC SERVICES

Archaeology has always been cause for known adventure films, history books and novels, travel magazines, new discoveries, travels to remote countries and great mysteries to solve.

Traditionally the History teaching becomes like a process, with optimism, a story; in these cases the teacher explains the facts and the pupils are simple passive receptors, which had to memorize king’s lists, battles, and dates, etcetera. Childs learn a history that has no questions, foreign and far away from their reality. In main cases, they memorize what the teacher wants to hear, and forget it.

Fortunately, again and again professional educators pretend to transmit not only the contents, but the activity implication of students in the acquisition of knowledge, all of this through proceedings that can allow not only what, but why and how. Since the Didactic Service of ArqueoLine we try to offer ideas that implicate an innovative learning and archaeological and prehistoric experience.

OBJECTIVES

• To encourage the capacity of analytic understanding of the reality in the pupils, causing emphasis in the process of how elaborate it, produce it and transform the scientific knowledge.

• Not limiting the teaching and understanding process to information transmits.

• To use innovating didactic materials that applies the archaeological method for the study of the past. With this we pretend to offer the ideal framework for the development of serial strategies, procedures, abilities and cognitive skills that stimulate the formation of explaining thoughts, interpretative and critic.

• To cause empathy capacity, putting us in the place of other peoples and times, promoting a critical perspective of the history.

In this sense, from ArqueoLine we offer the possibility to approach this discipline as attractive as educative to the children, from a significant learning methodology and the premise to learn by doing. So these knowledgments can be complement or introduction to the education they receive in history class, geology, geography and plastic arts, etc.

Besides the benefices of modelling and the attention of professional personal that dedicate their lives to the study of prehistory and archaeology, the children can enjoy a ludic environment that will favour his interrelation and the acquisitions of abilities and knowledge about prehistory, archaeology, primitive art, the techniques they used, motor and plastic abilities, as a unique opportunity for using his curiosity like a motor learning.
